Initial Consultation

During this introductory meeting, I'll get to know you, your child and your specific concerns. We will discuss your child's educational history, any challenges they may be facing, and your goals for their educational journey. This will help us develop a personalized plan that aligns with your family's needs. 

Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Section 504 Assistance

Developing an effective IEP is a crucial aspect of securing appropriate educational services for your child. I will work closely with you to ensure that the IEP is tailored to your child's needs and that all necessary accommodations and goals are included.

If your child requires accommodations and support under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, I can guide you through the process of obtaining a Section 504 Plan. This will ensure that the proposed plan addresses your child's specific challenges and helps level the playing field in the educational environment. 

Referral for Special Education Services

If you suspect that your child may require special education services, but you are not sure where to begin, I can assist you in initiating the referral. I will guide you through the necessary steps, ensuring that you provide the right information to start the evaluation process. 

Navigating the Process from Start to Finish

My support does not end with the initial assessment or development of the IEP or Section 504 Plan. I am committed to guiding you through the entire process, answering your questions, addressing concerns and providing ongoing assistance as needed. 

Review of Private and School Testing Documents

As a former special education teacher certified in administering educational assessments, I have extensive experience in interpreting and understanding various testing reports, both from private assessments and school evaluations. I'll carefully review these documents, providing you with valuable insights to better understand your child's strengths, weaknesses and learning style. 

Advocacy and Communication

Effective Communication with school personnel and understanding your rights as a parent are essential elements of successful advocacy. I will equip you with the tools and strategies necessary to communicate effectively with teachers, administrators and other professionals involved in your child's education.
